Christmas Jumper Day 2026 falls on Thursday 10 December 2026. It traditionally takes place on a Thursday in the second week of December, which gives offices and schools time to plan before the end-of-term rush and the Christmas party season really kicks in.

The idea is simple: on one day, people across the UK swap their usual work or school clothes for a Christmas jumper. It is a fundraising day, so many participants make a donation to the organising charity. A good work jumper day needs very little organisation, but a few small touches make it memorable.

• Announce it early. Send a message two or three weeks before so people have time to dig out, borrow or buy a jumper.
• Make it inclusive. Not everyone owns a Christmas jumper, and not everyone wants to wear one. Festive socks, a tie or a Santa hat all count.
• Plan a group photo. Pick a time, pick a spot with good light and get everyone in. For remote teams, schedule a video call and take a screenshot.
